ABOUT ME

IMG_8126_e (1).jpg

My name is Katherine Woolbright and I hold a Master's degree in Comparative and International Studies at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zurich) and a College Counselling Certificate from the University of California in Los Angeles. I received my undergraduate degree in International Politics and History from Jacobs University Bremen and the International Baccalaureate Diploma from Li Po Chun United World College in Hong Kong. Through hard work, perseverance and luck, I have been fortunate enough to be awarded scholarships that have allowed me to pursue further education.

I am passionate about teaching and since 2008, I have been tutoring students of varying ages in different countries (i.e. Hong Kong, Germany, Israel, the Philippines and Switzerland). As such, I am adept at dealing with students from different backgrounds and learning styles. Since students have very different learning styles, I continually look for ways to best impart my knowledge to them. This is because I believe that if students don't understand what I am explaining to them, it is because I am not teaching them in the way that they need me to teach them.  I believe students learn best when they see the value and importance of what they are learning. Due to this, I gravitate towards a more interactive teaching style to ensure that the student fully understands the concept as well as the details within it.
